December 2011 - new toy - trak shak

We had been thinking about buying a camper trailer for the past four years. We went to the 4WD Camping show four years ago and also in April 2011 and both times we looked at all the camper trailers and came away with our heart set on the "Trak Shak" brand. We saw a 2nd hand one for sale in local Cammeray so asked the guy to bring it to our property and set it up. He came in November when Fi was visiting from the UK. At the time we decided not to buy it but a few weeks later (just before Xmas) I suggested to Dunc that we call him to see if it was still for sale as it was in such good condition and was half the price of a new one. IT WAS STILL THERE!!! We decided to treat ourselves after the appalling few months that Dunc had been through with his health. It stayed up in the garden for over a week and the boys slept in it every night apart from Christmas Eve when they were concerned that Santa might not leave presents in their stockings if they weren't in their own beds!

Two very comfy double beds are raised up high off the ground. Me, Dunc, Arthur and Iona sleep up here.

A separate extra children's room hangs below the left hand double bed, renamed by Barn and Tenz as 'the alien cave'!!

One of Dunc's clients sent him this bouquet of chocolate covered giant strawberries - YUM!

A 1950s housewife again this year. I had so much fun making the gingerbread house at Emma's last year that I cheekily called her and invited myself along to do it again.

Here is our edible ski village at the end of a night of decorating and eating too many lollies!
